The Door
To wash the door use a gentle soap. Avoid abrasive cleaners, or strong liquid soaps. The use of car wax, once a year, will revitalize your door. Wash as often as needed, but we recommend three (3) times a year.
Hardware
Tracks, springs, rollers and hinges should be lightly lubricated once every six months with a silicone based lubricant. Do not use petroleum-based oils ( ex : WD-40, Vaseline). For the tracks, remove old grease and lightly lubricate the curved part of the track. This will result in a quieter operation for your door.
Weather-Stripping
The weather-stripping is made of quality PVC and rubber, and therefore should be cleaned with an all purpose vinyl cleanser, as you would use on patio furniture.
Garage Opener
Using a silicone based lubricant, lightly lubricate the track that hold the chain; refer to owner manual. Repeat this procedure every six months. Every two (2) to three (3) months, disconnect the opener and open your door by hand several times. If you have difficulty opening the door your opener will have the same difficulty; therefore you should contact a professional installer. Consider your garage door as an important part of your home. Proper maintenance will result in problem free operation.
