Pass Doors, High Speed Doors and Breakaway Bottom Doors

Features & Benefits

Features – Pass Door

  • Welded aluminum frame with shiplap design affords added strength and durability while providing a weathertight door seal. The rain cap feature protects the door entrance against accumulated water during rain showers.
  • The geared hinge ensures smooth operation and enhances the longevity of the pass door.
  • A commercial door closer ensures safe and quiet closure.
  • Continuous boxed channel bottom rail adds additional strength against the wind and horizontal deflection.

Features – High Speed Door

  • Fast Operation Speed: High-speed doors typically open and close at speeds of 1 meter per second or more. Some models can reach up to 3 meters per second, making them ideal for high-traffic areas.
  • Automatic Sensors: They often have motion sensors or radar sensors that detect when someone is approaching and can trigger the door to open automatically.
  • Energy Efficiency Thermal Insulation: Many high-speed doors are designed with insulated panels to reduce energy loss. This makes them great for temperature-controlled environments like cold storage or food processing.
  • Airflow Control: By closing quickly, they help maintain controlled climates and prevent drafts or contamination from outside air.
  • Durability
Heavy-duty Construction: High-speed doors are usually built with robust materials like reinforced PVC or metal for the door panels and frames, making them resistant to wear and tear from heavy usage.
  • Impact Resistance: Some models are designed to withstand accidental impacts (e.g., from forklifts) without getting damaged. If the door is hit, it may automatically reset or realign itself.
  • Safety Features Photoelectric Beams or Sensors: These are often installed to detect objects or people in the door’s path, preventing accidental injury or damage.
  • Soft Bottom Edge: Some doors come with a flexible bottom edge that reduces the risk of damage or injury if the door closes onto something.
  • Customization Design and Size: High-speed doors can be customized to fit various openings—whether it’s a small door for a pedestrian passage or a large industrial door for vehicle access.
  • Colors and Materials: They can be made in different colors, materials (such as PVC, fabric, or metal), and finishes to suit the aesthetic of the environment.
  • Hygiene and Cleanliness Easy to Clean: Many high-speed doors are designed to be smooth and easy to wipe down, making them ideal for cleanrooms, medical facilities, or food production areas.
  • Seals: They often have tight seals along the edges to prevent dust, dirt, or contaminants from entering or exiting the space.
  • Noise Reduction Quieter Operation: High-speed doors are often quieter than traditional doors, which is helpful in noise-sensitive environments like manufacturing plants or warehouses.
  • Advanced Control Systems Remote Operation: Some models come with remote control options for ease of use, allowing operators to open or close doors without needing to be physically near them.
  • Integration with Automation: These doors can be integrated with building management systems (BMS) or automated processes to synchronize with production lines or warehouse systems.
  • Weather Resistance Weather Seals: High-speed doors are often designed with special seals to withstand rain, wind, and extreme temperatures, keeping the interior environment protected.
  • Flexibility Sectional or Rolling Designs: They can come in various forms, like vertical lifts or rolling designs, giving flexibility depending on the type of space and how much clearance is needed.

Features – Break-Away Bottom Section

  • Clopay’s Break-Away Bottom Section releases from the track and will swing up to a full 90-degree angle inward or 45 degrees outward, preventing further damage to the door.
  • Inside of section, has a fiberglass protective panel to prevent damage to the door.
  • An optional inside slide lock provides additional security. A padlock may be applied.
  • Doors must have at least 24″ of hi-lift.
  • 36″ of headroom required.
  • Not compatible with door drop safety device/bottom brackets.
  • Not compatible with doors requiring a double torsion shaft
